About the Image(s)

This is an ICM image taken in burst mode using in-camera average blend mode with a Fujifilm X-T5 and a Tamron 18-300m lens. The number of shots cannot be set and only stops recording when you release the shutter button or the storage card fills, so I am guessing it was about 6 to 8. Each shot 1/8sec f20 ISO 640, 64.3mm. I moved almost continuously during the burst.

This is actually a frosted lawn with brown fallen leaves. I lightened it, darkened the blacks, cropped it, changed white balance to a little bluer, increased clarity and flipped it vertically in Lightroom Classic. I thought the result made it look like an abstract of winds over a churning rocky sea.

Great colors and swirls. It does look like waves. This image would provide a nice background for a subject. I never tried combining ICM with burst mode. Thank you for posting it. I will try this.   Posted: 02/10/2025 00:13:18

Heather Ebey Heather EbeyThank you, Judith. I am glad it gave you a new idea for expressing yourself artistically. In apps, I still need to do a lot of exploring in combing images after the fact. I do multiple exposure in camera. Do most people use PS? I have heard of Affinity.   Posted: 02/10/2025 02:38:00

Adobe links PS and LRC in their Photography program, so both are used. LRC keeps getting more powerful. BUT other programs are indeed popular.   Posted: 02/10/2025 02:56:39

Hi Heather, Wow! Great wallpaper. The rainbow of color and the up-down lines give a nice, peaceful wave impression. I think the best aspect of the image is the color variety which you did an excellent job visualizing and processing. The image may need a defined subject to be more competition worthy. Since the ICM image looks like colorful rain, I combined it with a model with umbrella image that I shot on a day with just a drizzle. I blended the model and ICM images on masked layers in Photoshop Elements. It's great fun. Thank you for a great image that instigates further creativity. Karl   Posted: 02/12/2025 17:49:16

I'm a sucker for ICM, as you know. Love the effect you've created by combining it with the burst mode!   Posted: 02/22/2025 03:49:40
