About the Image(s)
Silvered Balloons in Motion was captured in an interactive museum exhibit of large silvered mylar balloon pillows that visitors could bounce around the room. In situations like this, the photographer takes many pictures to find something that characterizes the situation. A shutter speed of 0.3 seconds handheld allowed the creation of motion trails. The image was made with a Sony a6000 camera and Sony 50 mm f/1.8 lens at ISO 400 and f/4. Post processing included lightening shadows and removing some details that I thought were extraneous. .The word 'HI' is just a serendipitous reflection.

Very interesting. The camera settings worked well. The magic smoke swirling up from the "spinning top" lower left up to the "HI", and the woman's pondering of the make a nice story. The more I look at it, the more stories emerge.   Posted: 02/10/2025 00:34:40
Fascinating example of abstract impressionism. You neatly show how you think people would react to the abstract objects created by the mylar balloons. As with many good abstracts the created objects are subject to the viewer's interpretation. What a fun image to create. Very well done.   Posted: 02/20/2025 20:14:38
Love this…it allows our imagination to run riot with all the possible interpretations!   Posted: 02/22/2025 03:54:22
