About the Image(s)
Happy New Year to you! Several weeks ago while hiking in a nearby park I spied a lone leaf floating in a pond. The reflected colors of surrounding trees swirled in a pleasing pattern. I captured the scene with a Canon R10 and Canon RF 18-150 lens. 1/40 sec; f/6.3; ISO 800. The image was processed in Lightroom Classic. Basic adjustments and cropping were followed by NIK 7 Color Efex to give the image more life.

Judith, I really like the complementary colors in this closeup - beautiful crop - of a newly discovered aquatic creature. My first thought is it is a relative of the Malayan Leaf frog. The intensity of the colors in the creature keeps me going back to look at it. It is a very pleasing and intriguing image. Happy New Year..   Posted: 01/09/2025 05:42:27

Hi Judith, Great interpretation! The contrast between pastel water and saturated, sharp leaf make this an outstanding interpretation of a common scene. The warm-cool color contrast intensifies interest. Perhaps the leaf is a bit too centered. I gave it a slightly asymmetric crop. Karl   Posted: 01/09/2025 14:22:23

This editing is so effective; you have transformed a mundane sight into an image of great beauty. The leaf really stands out, and the complementary colors- as already mentioned - greatly highten the effect. This would make a lovely greetings card!   Posted: 01/09/2025 15:24:18
