I used LrC on my iMac to crop, heighten contrast, increase saturation and increase clarity. I was going for the colors and more abstraction. Is it too intense? Shot in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area located just a few miles west of Las Vega, which encompasses 195,819 acres within the Mojave Desert. I made this image on a short vacation to see a new great-grandson in the first week of November 2024.

Hi Heather, I see an interesting intersection of color and line. Your enhancement is good without overdoing as we so often see in exhibitions today. The image can stand alone for its calm, graphic composition. For excitement, a person, animal, moon, or spaceship could help. Karl   Posted: 12/13/2024 15:23:48

I like the composition with its diagonal lines, triangles, textures and colors. The image does look a bit over processed. I would cut back on the saturation and contrast, and perhaps the clarity. The abstract look could be enhanced by cropping the blue sky down to the tip of the tallest grey peak. This will create two blue inverted shapes that fit in well with the others.   Posted: 12/15/2024 18:48:27

Yes, I think it is too saturated, I agree with Judith. The problem with Southwest sky is that it is often already bright blue, and those of us in the Northwest think it is oversaturated. So less but not too much reduction in saturation would help. Also if you mask just the sky or the foreground you can mess with the saturation level of the reddish hill.   Posted: 12/18/2024 19:12:41

Great shapes that work so well together. The desolation comes across very strongly. I'd definitely crop the sky, as Judith has suggested, for it's too dominant.   Posted: 12/20/2024 17:23:46
