Welcome to the group, JoAnn! And congrats on retiring at the end of this month, allowing you much more time for photography!

My first suggestion would be to straighten the monument using Auto in Camera Raw. I would also try to bring back some detail to the sky.

I find the repaired crack and plants in the foreground to be distracting, so I've removed them. I've also used Generative Fill to add back the left side of the monument that does not appear.

Finally, I tried a monochrome conversion, since there isn't a lot of color in the image.

Using Generative Fill on this image is AI and can't be used in most Clubs or any PSA competitions.

Brenda has made the same points that I would have made. Additionally, however, since the bird is the main subject, I would like the image more if its contrast could be increased.   Posted: 07/12/2024 23:18:38

Welcome to the group, Jo!
A great subject to photograph, Brenda has made important changes and her black and white conversion is excellent. The only thing I would add is that it's always helpful to post the original photo alongside the processed version. This allows for a better understanding of the differences and more accurate feedback.

I think the image should be cropped much tighter to feature the eagle. In my revision I did so and also sharpened and brightened the eagle. And, I added a little color to the bright sky.   Posted: 07/21/2024 10:40:08

Love your revision Jim! Both the cropping and added color improved the image.   Posted: 07/29/2024 13:20:08
