About the Image(s)

EXIF:
Camera: Leica Q

Lens: 28 mm f/1.7

ISO 100, 1/2000 Sec at f/5

Post processing: Lightroom and Photoshop.

On my way back from India, I had a one-day stopover in Dubai and seized the opportunity to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. This architectural masterpiece is a photographer's dream. Despite the time constraints, I managed to spend two hours there and took several photos,

One of the pictures I took during this visit was selected for the Leica Gallery.

Congrats on the Leica Gallery! They love you (as do we!).

A couple of tiny things on your beautiful conversion of pure black to pure white!

On the left foreground, there is a small light streak going off the page on the left. I don't think it serves any purpose and takes our eye off the dome.

On the far right trees, there is a halo where they meet the sky. This is easily fixed with the clone stamp, set on "Darken" (not Normal!) and 70% and then clone from the sky close to the halo and this will put sky there instead of the leftover halos from sharpening.

Fabulous conversion!   Posted: 07/04/2024 15:07:53

Wow! This is one of the most interesting photos I have seen in a long time. I sure wish I could go there. The sky and the lighting is perfect It looks like you might have done a sky replacement. That's not a problem for me however. The reason I say this is the trees on the left in the original seem to have been blended in to make a smother sky line which I think looks nice. It has a magical feel to it.   Posted: 07/06/2024 03:55:17

Thank you Ed,
The sky has not been altered; the original color is exactly as the camera captured it. It appears smooth, possibly due to distant buildings beyond the trees. (In the processed black-and-white version, I have removed the buildings.)   Posted: 07/06/2024 04:11:11

It is a great example of black and white image. It was a great idea to delete the pedstrians on the right side of the water adn tidy up the trees on the left side of the image to make the whole picture clean. thanks for your sharing.   Posted: 07/06/2024 23:39:32

Sunil, kudos on an outstanding image. I love the composition. The large globe in the foreground and the bright images in the background add so much interest to the photo. I have no suggestions.   Posted: 07/12/2024 03:06:04

I love the domes and the contrast between classical and modern. I am almost always a fan of having B&W go from pure white to pure black as occurs here. I wonder if there is any way to make it more obvious that the modern dome is surrounded by water?   Posted: 07/12/2024 23:14:39

I love the color composition - it is surreal and fantasy- like. It reminds me more of a painting than a photograph... I could almost conjure up a story just by viewing it.

The black and white image is interesting, as well, more science fiction like. The two photos seem like completely different worlds - with different compelling stories. Thanks for presenting both!   Posted: 07/29/2024 13:37:53
