October 2025 - "Rider of Time Between Storm and Spring"
Original
About the Image(s)
EXIF:
Camera: Leica Q
Lens: 28mm/f1,7 fixed lens
ISO 100, 1/400 Sec at f/8
Exposure Compensation: ??“1 EV (I underexpose by one stop to preserve highlight detail).
Post-Processing:
Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. In Photoshop, I used separate layers to enhance both the flowers and the sky for better contrast and detail.
About the Photo:
From where I was standing the whole frame captured my attention, this historical statue stands as a timeless witness, caught between the dark drama of an approaching storm and the vibrant colors of spring. The scene mirrors the contrast between Boston’s historic past and its modern skyline, a moment where history, nature, and the present converge.
Captured this image in Boston last month from the same spot as my previous post of September

OK, don't get mad at me, but this image doesn't look realistic to me at all. The background is too dark and the flowers are over saturated. The good thing is you meetered on the sky so the sky isn't blown out (take note Brenda).
Here's my edit.   Posted: 10/03/2025 19:00:19

Thank you for your feedback. I'm not at all upset - I appreciate your perspective. I have tone down the flowers to make them look more natural, but I feel the sky is already well balanced and doesn't require any correction.

PS: I removed the people also.   Posted: 10/03/2025 19:09:45

I don't think removing the people is a good idea. They are quite small in the overall photo, and a public garden without any people wouldn't feel realistic. Many prefer to edit them out, but I see it differently.   Posted: 10/04/2025 01:43:12

I think Ed did a nice job on the edits. His sky and flowers are more balanced.
It's a great scene with the walk leading us in and then separating around the statue. Very pretty place!   Posted: 10/04/2025 01:22:27

I worked on flowers, check new post, but i don't see any correction needed in the sky.   Posted: 10/04/2025 01:48:40

i like your cropping of the original. In your revision, the illumination of the flowers is closer to being consistent with the illumination in the rest of the scene. I'd like the image still more if the illumination of the clouds were closer to the illumination of the rest of the scene.   Posted: 10/06/2025 21:21:50
