About the Image(s)

Camera: Sony

Lens: Leica 28-35-50 mm Variable focus lens at 28mm

ISO 800, 1/25 Sec at f/8

Post-Processing:
The image was edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. Adjustments were made to color density, contrast, and saturation.

About the Photo:

This image was taken within the candle room of Mission San Juan Capistrano, one of California’s most storied missions, founded in 1776 by Spanish Franciscan missionaries.

This quiet corner, filled with the flickering flames and warm glow of red candles, along with filtered sunlight on the hand-painted archways, created a profound sense of peace and stillness.

You have such a clever eye to see things most would ignore.

I like what you've done in post-processing to show the detailing on the walls. The only thing I I might do is take your lit candles up a bit more to really show the flickering flames and golden glow feeling.   Posted: 07/02/2025 01:08:06

Nice updated version. In addition to Brenda's comment about seeing things most people miss, I noticed your pictures were taken from some really unique angles.   Posted: 07/02/2025 22:37:08

Thank you,
I used 28mm lens and my position was very close to the wall.   Posted: 07/23/2025 21:52:57

Really like the crop you gave the image. I find the candles in the revision a bit too bright - the original looks more "real" to me.   Posted: 07/06/2025 17:13:33

Nice colors and composition. I might suggest changing the geometry slightly by compressing it vertically and then cropping the right side a bit. But it's a great photo from the start.   Posted: 07/08/2025 14:26:03
