About the Image(s)
I use Sony A1 70-200. 1/80, f/6.3, ISO 400 .
In Taiwan, disc dog is both a competitive sport and a performance art. I shot this last year in a fallow rice field after it had rained. I boosted the brightness in Camera Raw and used a color palette in Photoshop to make the water splashes stand out more.

This action scene is really cool! The dog's capture is super sharp, but the person in the shot is a bit blurry. I'm not an expert in action photography, so I can't give you any specific advice. But I'm sure our group members or other PSA members will have some great tips for you.   Posted: 05/01/2025 22:17:15
Thanks for your nice commond.   Posted: 05/05/2025 22:19:54
The location is nice with a muted background and the man and the frisbee are colorful. The water splashing adds to the story.
I'm not sure why everything is out of focus but the dog? At 1/80th, the trees, rice fields and foreground wouldn't be in focus. Perhaps you were panning? If so, you would want a lower shutter speed so that the dog is sharp and the rest is more out of focus.
Nice try to do something different!   Posted: 05/03/2025 02:08:15

It's probably because I used continuous focusing while shooting, and the dog and the person were not on the same focal plane, which made the person appear blurry.

This is a strong action shot. The dog, as the main subject, is sharply in focus while the motion blur of the background and person adds a dynamic sense of speed and movement. The red elements-the frisbee and the man's shirt-form a visual triangle with the dog, helping to guide the viewer's eye and keep attention fixed within the frame.   Posted: 05/03/2025 18:13:18
Thanks of your commoned.   Posted: 05/05/2025 22:20:49
Excellent composition. The green foliage in the foreground is perfect. The triangle formed in red of the frisbee, dog and man is perfect.   Posted: 05/05/2025 18:37:12
The reversal of what one would expect to be sharp and what one would expect to be blurred interested me and made me look longer at the image. Normally, one would strive to have the dog and the disc blurred and the background and man sharp.   Posted: 05/07/2025 01:28:32
