About the Image(s)
Camera Info: Canon EOS 7D; F/11.0 @1/100; ISO 100; 24-70mm lens;
Raw image; I used raw filter to level the image, adjust color, and used Nik preset to adjust sky. I removed the leftmost tiny house.
This was taken during my Nova Scotia trip. I took many photos there like all tourists. The landmark at Peggy’s Cove is the lighthouse. This image I presented here may resemble others on the web. I always question myself, “How can I make my travel photo of a known place look different from others?” I don’t have a perfect answer(s). Love to hear your comments.

Jean, Lovely, peaceful image! Definitely love that you removed the leftmost building. The reflections are nice. It would have been wonderful if you also caught the second building's reflection, too.
A couple of minor suggestions. If you use Object Aware to pick the green building, you can add some contrast and clarity and maybe texture and maybe a touch of additional exposure, so this building pops in a similar manner to the red building.
My second suggestion involves sky replacement, which could elevate your image even more. If you haven't done sky replacement, there are tons of free videos. I use all my own skies but there are lots of free ones in Photoshop. If you haven't done sky replacement and want to Zoom with me, I am happy to walk you through it.
I've not been to Peggy's Cove and Novia Scotia, did you enjoy it?

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
Yes I used sky replacement before. I want to keep the image close to the original so I didn't modify too much. Sky replacement is great tool but you will need to consider how to adjust other parts of the image accordingly to make it 'realistic'. Current version of PS improved a lot on sky replacement with AI. There are many beautiful places in Nova Scotia, Canada. Yes, I enjoyed the trip and seafood!!   Posted: 04/03/2025 18:20:36

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on the sky and Novia Scotia. Since you are using the original sky, you might crop down a bit to remove some of the boring part and taking us into your subtle evening colors.   Posted: 04/03/2025 18:31:55
I like the crisp feel to this with the bold and clear colors. I agree with Brenda, as I would like this more with a little less of the clear sky. I agree with you in being reluctant to substitute a different sky. To me, a photograph is a record of what was there--take a good photograph, not make one.   Posted: 04/08/2025 00:32:39
Beautiful and vibrant image, nicely processed. I liked it - you might want to try converting it to black and white, may look good.   Posted: 04/11/2025 00:34:33
Nice landscape photo. The sky is okay but you might want to dodgge and burn the clouds so they stand out a bit more. Also, the reflection of the green house could be lightened a bit.   Posted: 04/11/2025 19:57:02
Jean, I love your sky change. It's subtle and I like how it "points" to the red building. However, there are not clouds in the water. I'm not sure how to add them in the best way?   Posted: 04/16/2025 00:22:41
Sorry for the late response. I've been traveling and I came home sick. I may have had covid again as it was that bad. However I'm now on the mend.
I like the photo both the original and your final version. I really didn't notice that you had changed anything until I read your description. I like your second version with the sky replacement even better. The original sky has a little too much magenta hear the horizon.   Posted: 04/17/2025 20:27:29

Sorry for the late response. I like your finial version which you change the sky. If the reflection of the water can also show the reflection of the clouds, it will appear richer. I recently read the concept of Ansel Adams's Zone system. You can try to choose the time of special natural light to show the vitality of the scenery. It just my personal thought.   Posted: 04/18/2025 02:56:55
