About the Image(s)

As of today, around here, you can still find piles of snow in shaded areas. Perhaps mostly to give us hope that Spring is around the corner, we have had in the area multiple flower shows in the past three weeks. At them I photographed about 75 flowers (over 2,000 shots--focus stacking) and obtained eight worthwhile images. Because of the crowds, all my stacks had to be done hand held (At the end I felt that my arms would drop off.)

Lighting was also a problem, and some of my shots used light from a flashlight held by a friend. (After the first flower show, I purchased a ring light for macro photography, but it wasn't particularly helpful for the second and third flower shows.) Amazingly, despite considerable hand shaking, the camera's image stabilization plus the software's alignment capabilities yielded high quality stacks. Here is one that I like because it is so different.
