This photo is from last Summer. I’ve gotten into street photography lately and just completed the PSA
Street Photography class. I like the geometry and lines of this photo as well as the colors.
The post-processing for this was fairly simple: Reduce highlights, bump up shadows, adjust geometry all of which
was done in Photoshop.

Ed asked me to mention that he entered this in a Travel competition and didn't do very well.
Ed, did you enter it in a PSA Travel competition? If so, its a reality based competition (strict editing rules) and the location often needs to be obvious to indicate where you traveled to. I can send you the link to the rules, if interested. You have a lot of images that would do very well in travel!   Posted: 03/03/2025 17:52:51

It was a while ago that I entered it. I no longer enter photos into either nature or travel competitions. I don't like all the rules.   Posted: 03/03/2025 17:57:01
My eye goes immediately to the streamers and next to the interesting shape and colors of the two buildings. Finally it reaches the couple under the umbrella. If this is to be a street photo, to make the couple be the subject, a lot of the extraneous material would need to be cropped off. As a general photo, there is a lot of material to process. I prefer that objects, in this case the corner of the illuminated area, not just touch the boundary of the image.   Posted: 03/03/2025 20:04:30
Robert now that I look at it you are absolutely correct. If it's a street photography / travel photography photo the people should be the subject. I think at the time I was more interested in the colors.   Posted: 03/06/2025 14:30:28
I enjoy street, documentary, and travel photography the most, and much of my work revolves around these styles.
Your posted photo is excellent and well-processed-I really liked it. The combination of the deep purple back wall, the vibrant yellow side wall, and the interplay of light and shadow on the floor creates a visually engaging scene. The couple sitting under the parasol adds a focal point, making the composition feel complete.   Posted: 03/10/2025 22:25:18

A very beautiful corner with yellow and red house walls, as well as the sunlight perfectly hitting the center of the photo. The hanging striped decorations are truly stunning. I felt they all had a wonderful day. very nice photo. I also live Jean Wu's editing too.   Posted: 03/13/2025 03:06:42
