About this photo - On a busy afternoon at Huntington Beach CA, I saw an elderly woman momentarily dozing off, her ice cream cart standing as a quiet witness to the bustling life around her. I took a few pictures, but none turned out well due to the overcast sky and less-than-ideal exposure settings.

I missed the fact that the woman was dozing until I read your description. Perhaps you could emphasize her status more with substantial cropping that still displays the contrast between the sleeping woman and the active folks on the beach?   Posted: 03/03/2025 14:39:21
I think it is a fun photo with a great story and I love the vibrancy in the umbrella. I also had the same experience as Robert, where I didn't catch that she was sleeping either.
A couple of thoughts for you to take us into your story. Perhaps crop in from the bottom, as that would take us closer into Veronica.
A second thought is that Veronica's sign is very bright and difficult to read. Perhaps dropping the vibrancy or darkening the text on her sign would give us more info on the subject.
A third idea would be to crop in from the right to again bring us into your story, although you lose Veronica from the center.
I love how you see things other folks miss!   Posted: 03/05/2025 20:30:12

You have done a great work on the saturation and making the sky so nature and beautiful. But, Because there were no animals, children or couple interacting in front of this ice cream chart, it gives a sense of loneliness. It just my personal idea.   Posted: 03/13/2025 03:31:29
