Keeping with a monkey theme for now, this is a Common Marmoset resident in North-Eastern Brazil. We spent a few days in February in Rio and went to the huge Botanical Gardens in search of wildlife - we were not disappointed. If added to Bird Group 91 this month Toucans also seen there.
There were a few of these chaps playing around (difficult to photograph) then they settled down in one ares feeding.
Settings - Taken a FF 800mm at 1/2,000 f6.3 ISO12,800 (I could have dropped my speed, but they darted about quickly). PP in Topaz for de-noise/sharpening and selectively in Lightroom.
I have added an extra image - a baby Black Tufted Marmoset also taken in the gardens (there were a few youngsters).

Adrian, This is a variety of monkey that I have never seen. It looks very busy eating what looks like young dates. The tongue out adds interest to the image. It is sharp.   Posted: 10/03/2026 20:20:21

Adrian, what a great expression the marmoset has! Nice capture, and so interesting. The crop is on point, pulling it to center instead of towards the right side. Thank you for sharing!   Posted: 10/07/2026 23:01:29

Adrian, what a joyful capture of a fun moment! I love the facial expression on this adorable creature; the tongue sticking out and the eyes looking at the food with great intensity, like nothing can come in between its meal and its long pink tongue.   Posted: 10/08/2026 18:58:21
