About the image: Taken in Katmai National Park few years ago. This mama brown bear was snorkel fishing for spawning salmon diving it's head under water to locate fish going up the river to spawn. After a few moments under water she would come up shaking her head to get the water out of her ears and off her face.

Bruce - such a clear image of your bear shaking water off/out. Very sharp - and interesting 1/1,000 achieved this. It worked and I like very much that some of the water was moving too fast. The eye and the seemingly raised eyebrow adds significantly. Posted: 07/09/2026 14:38:15
