For something different, I thought I would field a non-wildlife image for this last month of 2025. I took this when on a near 2 month long cruise (no-fly) within the Mediterranean. As we left our last Italian port on the west coast we sailed east to spend a week within the Adriatic, we passed the small island of Stromboli, which is basically a volcano but does have 2 villages on its slopes. It is active; puffing away constantly, with any physical output always falling away from the villages.
Our ship timed its journey to pass at sunset, giving us a treat and the sunset was good, particularly after the sun had dropped. I was taking pictures with both my camera and phone - this was actually a phone image, which I exported it to Lightroom for developing. I attach an extra image taken just prior to sunset.

Hi Adrian - Great shot! And your edits did it justice. I can't tell which image I like better, the one you submitted for review, or the other one with the sun still in the sky. Very pretty. Also, I think your sunset is appropriate for the last month of the year. Posted: 12/08/2025 03:12:38
