Taken In Lamar Valley Yellowstone NP in February 2021. This was one of 12 wolves in this pack that had killed an elk and it was defending the kill from ravens that were trying to get a few bites of food. I discovered them very near sunset so there was very little light making exposure difficult. Temperature was -27.

Bruce, this is a WOW image, I do not think the wolf is scaring the Raven away, it looks like he is trying to catch it (nice snack). The wolf's face is very expressive and shows intention. The image is sharp and the white's are well managed. Posted: 04/03/2025 00:54:16
