Barbara, in reality this is a male Northern Cardinal. Nice background, and the pine cone adds interest to the image, which is very sharp. The color is also nicely shown. I am attaching an image from the web of a Robin for you to see the difference.   Posted: 12/07/2024 23:45:27

Barbara - what a lovely bird. My first reaction (not having ever seen one) was that the bird seems slightly washed out with bird and background a tad bright. But I respect Isaac's comment above. Looking at the original, I would instinctively mask the bird and lighten the shadows a bit to bring out more detail which you final image shows, but to me the sky has ended up with a tint (not shown in the original).

I really like this bird you have captured. It's a great shot with excellent visual contact, plenty of detail, and a nice pose that also provides context about its environment. The crop contributes well to enhancing the image.

I noticed you've brightened the bird, which works well in some areas, but I feel it might be better not to apply the same level of intensity across all parts. This can help preserve the dimensionality of the bird and avoid making the image look too flat.
