About the Image(s)
When I received Bruce's image for this month, I remembered that when we were in Iceland, and driving through the Northern Coast, we came across a herd of Icelandic horses, which is a unique and pure bread of horses, pasturing and I noticed this stallion putting his front leg on top of the back of a mare, showing to the other males in the herd that this is his girl.
Image created with a Nikon D5 with the Nikkor zoom lens 70-200 mm @ 200 mm and these settings: ISO 800, f/8 and 1/200 sec. The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped.

Hi Isaac,
You've captured a wonderful moment of interaction within this group of horses. The way the stallion proudly shows off the most beautiful mare to the others is fantastic.
The variety of colors among the horses makes the image even more captivating, and the inclusion of part of the landscape provides just enough context to place them in their environment.
My only suggestion would be regarding the road that crosses the image-it feels a bit distracting due to its contrasting tonality.

Yup Isaac, Icelandic horses are very special and unique - there are significant rules designed to prevent and interaction with any other type of horse.
Lovely shot showing natural behaviour. Maria's road removal is cleaver and does improve the image.   Posted: 12/16/2024 09:37:12

Very striking image, Isaac, that's packed with action, clarity, earthy colors and contrasts. I specially like the subtle tension between the pastoral setting, the languid mood of some of the horses, the wind blowing, and the dominant posture of the horse whose foot is on his girlfriend.   Posted: 12/18/2024 16:38:02
