About the Image(s)

This bull elk was photographed the other day in the Great Smoky Mountains. The image was edited using LR, where I made basic adjustments and ran it through denoise. Additionally, I used PS to remove a few of the elk that were partially hidden by the grass.

Hey Barbara, Nice image of a bull elk bugling. Your composition is pleasing and shows a good pose. The details show that the antlers were rubbing off some of the fur making an unusual image. Very nice image indeed. Bruce   Posted: 11/13/2024 02:41:19

Barbara, obviously he is being monitored. Has a neck collar.
Calling for his girls. Nice environment. Sharp.   Posted: 11/14/2024 18:52:39

Thanks Isaac. Yes, several of the elk had tracking collars to monitor reproduction.   Posted: 11/19/2024 16:03:20

Nice image Barbara, where you have captured him calling (I didn't know this is 'bugling'!). Is there an outline on the right where a deer was removed? I only noticed it after reading your text.   Posted: 11/17/2024 18:59:28

Thanks Adrian. I'll take a closer look to see if there is any residual from the removal.   Posted: 11/19/2024 16:05:32

I can't add much to the above comments except that I find the strong sense of place of this image very appealing.   Posted: 11/19/2024 00:23:45
