About the Image(s)
Taken in Homer Alaska at the eagle ladies compound. Gene Keene lived on the Homer spit in Alaska and fed eagles scrap fish from the processing plant for 35 years. She fed as many as 300 eagles each winter from her compound at the end of the Homer spit. The location was an RV park in the summer, and you could park your car in the parking spots next to her small compound. She passed away one week before my last trip there in January 2009, ending the feeding of eagles in Homer. In the background is Mount Augustine, and active volcano that was erupting during my trip there although not during the time of this photo. You can still get incredible eagle photos from Homer by going on a tour by boat where they provide fish for the eagles to catch with their talons as the fly by. The tour is organized by a friend of mine and is known as Perfect Light Photography out of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

What a great shot - Good job incorporating the terrain to tell the full story and getting the most out of the light. You should be proud to have this in your collection.
There are a few sensor spots at the top to take care of.   Posted: 11/15/2024 21:59:09
