I wish this image had more reveal by opening up the shadows. I also am confused what the subject is. What are the flower gardens...are they the indentations in the brick base or are they the metal things in the upper part of the frame. They high contrast makes it hard for me to ascertain orientation. I at first thought it was the side of brick facade, but the title suggest something else. Without a title, one would never figure it out in my opinion. Was there post work done? If so what was used?   Posted: 09/14/2023 14:55:55

The deep blacks really dominate and being devoid of detail it is hard to interpret the actual form of the structures and whether they line up east/ west or north/south. I like the contrast in the lines of bricks/ pavement but overall find it an uneasy image and a bit harsh on the viewer.   Posted: 09/17/2023 04:34:55

A very nice assortment of graphical shapes in the structures contrasted nicely by the white clouds in the background. The clouds add a sinister fires of hell feeling to the background in my opinion. You could dodge the cages to lighten the overall mood.   Posted: 09/21/2023 13:31:15

I interpret this as an artistic view that emphasises the bleak look of the flower gardens in winter. I would not know what this was however without your title. Understanding that, I feel I understand what you were trying to accomplish and you did it. On the flip side as a standard monochrome, yes there is a lot blocked up shadow.   Posted: 09/22/2023 11:00:03
