The image was taken hand-held with 3 second exposure with intentional camera movement of a firework. The exposure settings were S 2.9 sec., f/6.3, and ISO 500.
The image was cropped and luminosity was adjusted to darken the sky before being converted to monochrome in FastStone.

When I saw your title, I thought "Wow! That's an interesting jelly fish!". Thinking that there are all sorts of fascinating creatures under water that we don't normally see.

But it's actually the result of your creativity, and I think this has worked really well. It looks to me like twisting the camera made the circumferencial shape, but it's not in the brighter central lines, so I guess it must be a combination of your ICM and the movement of the trails in the sky. The gradual change in luminosity give a great 3D effect.

I immediately thought pulsating jellyfish and that is what the image imitates so well done and I like it a lot. The white lines radiating outward and turning into dotted lines adds life and impact. I think you have done the right thing making background totally black. Taking it one step further you could easily get rid of the stray dots at the top of the circle which I think would be a good thing.   Posted: 08/19/2026 07:08:10
