About the Image(s)
I passed a building with a small hole in a window, and thought that the patterns looked interesting.

There is an abstract characteristic to this monochrome image. If a Look at it for a long time, I start to see dimensionality, but at first viewing, it looked flat and odd to my eye. The upper left portion of the glass reaction to the puncture is a bit blurred and distracts me from focusing on the layers within the immediate puncture point. the Upper linear elements of the hole that extend diagonally from upper left to mid lower right has too much white (highlight) for me to sense any three dimensional aspects of the effect. Frankly, the only part of the image I like is the bottom right breakout which shows a lot of detail. Interesting study.   Posted: 11/17/2024 17:26:12

Interesting abstract well spotted and certainly worthy of a shot as the subject matter has a lot of impact especially with the black hole contrasting with the rest of the image. I agree with John on the sharpness and bright highlites. I cant help but wonder if stepping back a bit to include the tips of the three shards plus some space beyond would be an improvement to the composition as I feel the subject is a little crowded in the frame.   Posted: 11/18/2024 09:05:15

I like the frazzled glass background. The facets of broken glass at the bottom of the hole are the most interesting feature for me. Too bad that the focus and clarity does not continue to the upper portions around the hole.   Posted: 11/19/2024 14:06:17

Yes, you're right, and as I run the macro group I should be ashamed of myself! But it was a quick grab with non-ideal equipment. I should have taken lots in the expectation that one would be good, but I was in a hurry as usual.   Posted: 11/19/2024 14:45:17
