About the Image(s)

Technical : Canon R, 1/200 f7.1 ISO 100

Description: Taken at Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario Canada. It is now a museum and historic site and holds reenactments of British soldiers in Canada of 1867. I edited in Nik PS and Nik . I erased the tourist and edited heavily to create an impression that the past still lingers in the grounds and the buildings. The wet weather conditions helped with that.

Question _ did I overdo it with the soft, blurred treatment?

Wonderful mood in your image this month. Creatively processed to project the past to us in a credible manner. The blurring is our memory trying to think back in time when the Fort was active.

I like it

Mike, I love it. I don't think you overdid it. The "dreamy effect" really works well and shows great imagination and creativity. Beautifully done.

Naturally, I couldn't avoid playing with it. (lol) So, starting with the original, I tried to turn it into an old photograph, complete with scratches and grain. Your thoughts?   Posted: 12/07/2025 20:44:37

Thank you Pete for providing an alternate treatment to the image trying to mimic how an actual photograph taken in 1867 would appear today having survived almost 160 years. In a way it is amazing the photography has been around that long and more.

I love the picture. I very much appreciate the perfect symmetry, also in the fences on the top. In my view you didnt overdo and the picture perfectly represents your intention. Very nice   Posted: 12/09/2025 19:02:15

Michael, I really like how you processed the image and give it a strong impression. I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 12/18/2025 15:32:55
