About the Image(s)
The picture was taken in Arles in the South of France. The “Jeux Camarguaises” are a sport which corresponds to a bullfight, where the bull doesn’t have to die. The players have to fetch ribbons attached to the head of the bull. The play takes place in a Roman area, which is part of the challenge when taking photographs because there is a shadow getting larger during the play and one can take decent lit photographs only when the players are in the sunny area. For avoiding delays due to the slow autofocus I shot in Manual mode with an ISO speed that resulted in an aperture with a reasonable Depth of Field. As the bull moved around I occasionally refocused using the AF-D button.
As usual, I cropped the picture to my beloved panorama format. In the first version (Original 2), I included the spectators, as I found they added value. In the final version, I omitted them for the benefit of a more focused statement. What do you think?
