About the Image(s)

I went with my daughter and grandson about three years ago to see a demolition derby at the county fair. It was LOUD, exciting, and challenging to photograph. Nonetheless, I took quite a few photographs. This one shows the fantastic amount of dust kicked up by the cars. The two people in the upper right of the image were watching the derby from behind the fence and in front of their trailer home. I couldn’t decide whether to remove them or leave them in the photograph. I decided to use the dust to make it a high-key image.

My processing was primarily handled with Camera Raw, which consisted of manipulating the lighting. Some minor cropping was done in Photoshop, and then significant noise reduction was done using Topaz Photo AI.
