About the Image(s)
This barn is in the Cincinnati Nature Preserve, which I found during a hike. The preserve has several old structures, and this one stood out as it's being reclaimed by nature. Seeing old buildings like this makes me wonder about the people who built them, their work, and their lives.
I used Lightroom Classic to correct the color and adjust the tones. Then, I removed distractions in Photoshop and converted the image to monochrome using Nik Silver Effects. My goal was to make the image stand out from the surrounding trees and add drama.

I like your composition. The building pops. It is amazing it is not damaged or spray painted...
A couple of thoughts for you to consider. I darkened the trunks of the four trees that overlap the white siding using select object in LR. I also selected the upper portion of the these trees and lightened so it is consistent toning. My thought is have them offset the white siding more. I also brushed the dark openings and opened the shadows inside so you a little more inside.

Chris, I kept coming back to your image. There's something about it that is fascinating. I like Emil's suggestions but I also wonder if it would be beneficial to add a bit of an anchor (lighter foreground) and some detail in the inside of the building. Your thoughts?

Hi Chris, I like the motif and aim to find similar. As your picture demonstrates well, it is not easy to reflect the emotion associated with the motif in a photograph. I tend to do closer shots (eg here the car wreck in the right door), but this then loses the overall context. Hence I think you did the best that was possible here.
