About the Image(s)

When I’m in the woods, I’m always looking for anthropomorphic things to shoot and in this case it mimicked a classic painting. As I normally do, I did the conversion in Lightroom and then went through 13 masks to pull out the features in the face and play down the other areas. Thought it was a fun way to start out 2025.

Hi Mark - a very nice picture. One can look at it for a long time and sink in. Might be a nice series if you have more of them. Well done!   Posted: 01/14/2025 15:22:37

Mark - Loved the effect you captured and then enhanced with your processing. What subjects do you generally find that you can attribute humanlike qualities?   Posted: 01/15/2025 02:48:43

Very cool, Mark. I like finding "human faces" in nature. Your image made me look into it. There's actually a term for it: face pareidolial.

I thought your processing was very well done and emphasized the face. Using your work as a starting point, I decided to try to take it even further. I used the Photoshop Liquify tool and a bit of Camera Raw's light handling capabilities. I also made a tighter crop. Your thoughts?

Mark,

The eye of a good photographer can bring such unique art to the viewer and your Jan submittal is a case in point.

Your processing brings out The Scream so well.

And Pete expanded our knowledge with Face Pareidolial - I will have to Google it

Regards
