About the Image(s)
This image was taken during our vacation in Germany last year. This in Freiburg im Breisgau on one of the streets leading away from the Platz. I like how the street in this image creates a curved path to the clock tower known as Schabentor (Swabian Gate) in the distance. In this image you can also see on of the unique features in Freiburg which is the Bachle which are water filled canals located on the side of the streets. The Bachle is on the lower right of the image.
This image was taken with my iPhone 13 Pro. I used Lightroom Classic and Photoshop to adjusted the image to where I like it and convert to monochrome. I also use the new Remove Distractions feature in Photoshop to remove the light and wires above the street which worked pretty well.
Camera: iPhone 13 Pro, 5.7mm, 1/4000 sec at f/1.5. ISO 50

Wonderful street scene with the cobblestone/brick paved streets and bicycles parked on the side. The hero is the clock tower.
I made one change to your image to highlight the tower, I added radial gradient in LR over the tower, inverted it, and reduced the exposure just a bit which darkens everything outside of the radial gradient.
Iphones can get it done very nicely and you demonstrated here.

Very beautiful , tranquil scene. Reminiscent of when there were not too many tourists and the streets were quiet and you could enjoy them as if you were a local.

PS. The Tower is "Schwabentor". The local people are called Schwaben (with a w) wheras Schabe is the German word for cockroach :-)   Posted: 12/17/2024 08:41:41
