About the Image(s)

This image was taken in London while I participated in Scott Kelby’s World Photo Walk. I was fortunate enough to be in London when the walk took place, so I signed up and spent part of the day with a diverse group of photographers from around England and other countries. I don’t consider myself a “Street” photographer but do find that a lot of my travel images fit the category. One of the toughest parts of a photo walk like this or just traveling with other photographers is keeping them out of your images, so this time I didn’t worry about it and took the photo of the photographers interacting with the street environment. You can see that most of the people on the sidewalk have cameras or at least are using iPhones.

While the color image is more representative of the actual setting, I like how the monochrome version reduces the distracting elements.

Mark,

You took Scott at his word that it was going to be a World photo walk. Your story comes through at first glance in your shot of photographers on the "hunt" so I think you made a good choice of leaving them in a shot two.

I think your London Street is well seen.

Mark - interesting image. It appears that the main image is actually a reflection unless of course you intentionally flipped the image horizontally to achieve this effect. This effect adds a lot of interest - as if we are looking at two dimensions.

Wow, great image. I though I am looking at a posture promoting the city. The reflection works well and quite a story telling image. Well done.

Mark, I'm definitely not a street photographer; however, your image may motivate me to give it a try. What I especially like about your photograph is that there is so much going on in the scene, yet the cyclist gives a dynamic feel to it. The fact that he's "sharp enough" is balanced with motion blur. Very well done.

Mark, in my street photography I often look for the contrast between the static of the structures and the dynamic of people or animals. Your picture did is in a great way. Well done.

Really cool image. I like how you used the reflection off the window to capture the photography group on the hunt. I took me a moment to figure out the reflection. I assume you are the one in the image with the camera taking the picture.   Posted: 12/17/2024 13:02:39
