About the Image(s)
Photographed at Beaver Pond in the Cuyahoga Valley national Park just south of Cleveland, Ohio. The park runs from Cleveland to Akron and supports a remarkable variety of environments and nature. It was the site of the Ohio Erie Canal which at one time drained this pond. The National Parks have done remarkable work to restore the original resources and maintain a balance with its metropolitan surroundings.
You can see that I cropped the image to isolate the birds, making adjustments to increase the contrast and using denoise, I don’t recall doing much else to the image. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I like your idea to crop the background. My quandary initially was the single goose on the left looking back and the advancing lines of geese. I put my finger over it and looked at your image and felt it should stay. It adds balance and also indicates it is waiting patiently for the groups to catch up

Mark - I like the feeling of silence that the image evokes. I feel that the fog is a key contributor to this feeling and wanted to show more of it in the edit that I attempted. Since there is very little detail in the ducks other than their shape I felt that the " atmosphere " could be emphasized. Other than a different crop and removing of some elements I also used the dehaze filter to add to the fog. Posted: 11/10/2024 00:55:08
Mark, this is a wonderful image-one I could live with hanging on my wall. I agree with Emil about leaving the duck on the far left side. Your choice to make it a pano really works. My only problem with your image is that I can't think of any way to improve it! Well done!

I am familiar with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. My son goes the University of Akron so I get a chance to stop by the park on a somewhat regular basis. The limestone quarry and the locks make for interesting images. Posted: 11/16/2024 12:56:32

Mark, well done, I like to misty atmosphere of the image. The linear lineup prompt me to count the ducks when I first look at the image.
