On our trip to Japan, and while being in Tokyo, there is a very large and colorful Temple named Sensoji in the Asakusa District, which is a must see stop. We were walking through a long shopping street of over 200 meters (650 feet) called Nakamise completely framed by small stands of food, typical items/clothing and souvenirs. It is common practice for foreign females of all ages to rent a typical Geisha outfit and wear it to visit the temple. When I saw these every non oriental beautiful blond foreigner's, I started to walk backwards in front of them waiting for the right non obstructed full view of the outfits. Some of the locals found musing my doing and so did they.
The image was created with a Nikon D5 with the Nikkor zoom lens 28-300 mm @ 28 mm and these settings: ISO 2000, f/10 and1/1600 sec. The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped.

I see two smiling girls in bright kimonos walking through a busy street. There are many people around them, but they clearly stand out in the crowd. The colors of their clothes are very vivid and eye-catching. Everything feels real and natural, not staged. The street behind them is full of life and movement. This photo feels like a mix of travel and everyday street life. It gives a warm and lively impression.   Posted: 12/09/2025 07:05:14

Isaac, this is a very nice image capturing two tourists wearing a traditional clothing. I think the people behind them laughing tell the story. The image is sharp and I agree with Maxim is a mix between a travel and a street photography image. I also like the expression of their face that is engaging with your camera.
