About the Image(s)
One of my husband's physical therapist's umpired baseball on weekends and one of the games was near our house so I kind convinced him it would be a nice favor to let me photograph one of the games. It was a bit difficult because there was no way to eliminate the chain link fence but this was the result.

Bev, nice capture at almost peak of action. It is said that for a sports image be successful, you have to see eyes and the ball, which is not the case. The image is sharp.   Posted: 04/07/2025 17:01:02
Thanks. A bit tough when competing with a 10 foot high chain link fence.   Posted: 04/07/2025 18:39:58
Actually this is not a bad sports picture of an amateur event. The fence is likely something you could not change .You have stopped the action and based on the angle you had it would have been almost impossible to capture the face of the batter. I wonder if you had used a slower shutter (not much slower) and 3 or four burst shot you might have caught the batter in mid swing with some motion blur and perhaps a streak of white as the ball passed him. The catcher in your image is sharp and I don't think he woud have been blurred. Just some food for thought.   Posted: 04/19/2025 13:35:34
