This image was taken in Hecate Park (Cowichan Bay) as part of a project for a local paper celebrating "A Day in the Life of Cowichan". I was watching for some activity at the visitors centre when I looked away and saw the gentle many walking through this portion of the park carrying a shopping. He was not in a hurry and sort of just shuffleing lanog, Also in mono it created the illusion that he was walking into the darkness . Just an ordinary person doing an everday thing. Camera was a Sony mirrorless crop sensor at iso 400, 52mm, f2.8, 1/4000.

Ed, the fact that the individual is walking away from the camera (home or somewhere else) adds some degree of suspense to the image, where is he going, what is in the bag he is carrying ? You did a good B&W interpretation of the color version. The path he is walking on, creates a leading line towards the mysterious back. Posted: 04/03/2025 00:50:43
