About the Image(s)
Technical:
F5.6,1/640,ISO 100, 55 mm. Processed through lightroom and fine tuned the color to bring the mood..
Background:
This was shot in Venice at St Mark's Square , Italy.
My initial reaction when I took this photo, was that I was in Venice , city of love and this will be a true representation of the city. While doing post processing, I realized that, after all this one do not represent Venice (there is nothing there in the image that is uniquely Venice) but it does portray very touching human intimacy, the emotional embrace of the couple touched a deep chord within me.

A very nice candid of a young couple in an intimate moment, I agree with you in that there is nothing to bring the viewer to realize this is Venice, Italy. Having said that I do not think it takes away from the moment you captured, a moment that will never occur in the same circumstances again. You did well to capture it. I did a crop and adjusted the skin tones slightly cloned out two minor distraction, and sharpened it slightly in topaz.   Posted: 12/06/2024 00:09:23

This is a great photo; your timing was perfect. As a street photo, it has all the elements to make it an "I-wish-I-photographed-that-scene" photo. If this was entered in a travel category, then I agree with you that it does not give enough information about the place, but as this is a Street group, I do not think that is important.   Posted: 12/09/2024 04:38:01

Pinaki - Sweet image. I like seeing them in-focus and off-centered. Seeing the rest of the image further invokes the warmth of an intimate scene. B   Posted: 12/13/2024 14:10:43

Pinaki, I agree with what has been said about the image. There is a hint of Venice given by the wooden boat with the Italian flag which are characteristic water taxis there. With Ed's crop, then it is gone.   Posted: 12/16/2024 17:06:15

Pinaki--I think you are correct that the image does not convey the sense of Venice, but your appreciation for the human moment is beautiful. I like Ed's crop because it removes the distracting white boat and makes the image about the couple. I would like to see her face a little more perhaps.   Posted: 12/19/2024 17:27:14

Love this image. I agree with ED's crop as that extra boat is a bit extraneous; but that's o.k. because this image is about the couple and only the couple. Everything else really doesn't so much matter.   Posted: 12/21/2024 18:35:47
