I don't recall why I used such a high ISO; it may have been unintentional. I took a lot of pictures inside this airport because I liked the oversized appearance of the architecture which made the humans look tiny. I also liked the abundance of natural light coming in the huge windows. Airports fascinate me because they are like a world unto themselves and the architecture is usually interesting. Enjoy.

Kathleen, I see this image more about the building itself rather than a Street Scene, even though it has people on it minding their own business as it is normal in an airport. The image is sharp and nicely composed. Your quasy sepia convertion always adds some degree of interest.   Posted: 12/04/2024 15:57:50

I like this image as it shows day to day life in what often is a very busy location. You brought the scene down to one area and showcased the activity in the area. I did a crop along the left side as in my opinion that section had some distractions and I believe it did not add to the story. Just a different idea of what the story is   Posted: 12/04/2024 22:09:52

Kathleen - Really like the editing you made to this image, correcting the angles and how you toned it. I think Ed's crop helps make this more of the street image (per Isaac's comment) as it puts more focus on the people in the light rather than the building (which I agree is interesting itself). You could probably tone down the highlights in the upper window or use a radial filter on the people (inverting and lowering the brightness of the rest of the image) which would further emphasize the people on floor below. Sepia tone just works here. Once again the environment is also a character in the image. I prefer Ed crop which makes the image more vertical this emphasizing the domonance of the env. What kind of camera do you use for your photos ?   Posted: 12/20/2024 02:17:34

Thanks, Piaki. I like your phrase, "environment is also a character." Well said. I mostly use a Canon S95 point-and-shoot camera. I also own a DSLR and a mirrorless camera but the Canon is by far my favorite.   Posted: 12/20/2024 17:23:47

Great image but I have to agree with Isaac as to building vs street scene.   Posted: 12/21/2024 18:45:20
