About the Image(s)
I took it in Amsterdam with my new Sony Alpha 1 camera.
The memorials noted in the image are called Stolpersteine, often translated as “stumbling stones” or “stumbling blocks.”
They are small brass plaques, about 10 cm square, set into the pavement in front of the last freely chosen home of people persecuted and murdered by the Nazis.
I thought monochrome was appropriate.

What a fun shadow image. The textures and direction of the shadow make for a play photo. Nicely done.   Posted: 10/02/2026 22:41:02
This is an interesting image. The textures of the stones against the "stumbling blocks" make for an engaging image.
Then the shadow of person against both creates an intriguing image. A good choice to use black and white.
