About the Image(s)
Iphone photo taken on a trip to Baton Rouge this year sightseeing with friends to all the mansions and plantations. I just loved the tree covered walkway up to this house (we only saw it from the street, so it isn't as sharp as I'd have liked if I'd had used a tripod).
All lightroom edits - cropped, converted to B/W, lots of masks on each area to darken trees and lighten the house (brushes, radial and linear), outlined the walkway a bit to make it stand out more, denoised, dehazed and vignette at the end.

Texture, texture, and more texture. You captured a stunning image with this one. Your hands were steady. No tripod needed. I can't say more that beautiful.   Posted: 10/02/2026 22:45:45
Thanks Lori. I love trying black and white as it gives such a different feel.   Posted: 10/04/2026 14:35:17
This is a wonderful image of a plantation. The way you have captured all the trees leading lines that arch and form a canopy leading to the plantation house is well seen, as well as the walkway's leading line directly to the house. You've done well with the composition, and with the choice of using Black and White. Great Job!   Posted: 10/06/2026 20:12:04

Carol, this is a mesmerizing image! The canopy leading to the mansion is absolutely stunning, creating a wonderful sense of depth and drawing the viewer into the scene. The image has tremendous impact and visual interest, with exceptional sharpness and detail throughout. The monochrome treatment works beautifully, enhancing the atmosphere and timeless appeal of the composition. The scenic beauty is captivating, and the composition and technical execution are outstanding in every respect. Excellent work!   Posted: 10/10/2026 13:28:32
