About the Image(s)
We were at Ft Myers Beach early morning last week and wanted to shoot spoonbills, skimmers and maybe nesting birds (protected areas were marked, but no birds at all in there). Skimmers are hard because their …
… been 2 years since going down to this beach after 3 hurricanes and the birds just aren't there much anymore, so glad we did see some now, so even though it's not an awesome shot, I'm just glad to capture it.

You did the same edit I did. Great minds? Haha. Thanks.   Posted: 08/12/2026 00:01:29
Carol, what a beautiful woodpecker. You captured it well. I agree with Lori that the branch on the left could be a distraction. What camera did you use? I have found that Topaz Photo AI can work wonders on an iPhone photo. I don't know if Topaz Gigapixel is better. Great shot!   Posted: 08/01/2026 20:55:40
Camera Nikon D7500 with Tamron 18-300 lens. It was a bit far away so zoomed in and had to crop a lot.   Posted: 08/12/2026 00:02:49
SO YOU ALL KNOW...CAROL SENT ME THE EDITED IMAGE FOR THIS MONTH. THE PRIOR IMAGE WAS THE INCORRECT ONE.   Posted: 08/03/2026 17:03:56
I actually like your crop with more vertical than mine which was more square. Thanks.   Posted: 08/12/2026 00:03:54
This is a wonderful capture of a woodpecker. Birds in flight are so difficult to capture, and you did a fantastic job. The colors in the image are terrific; the sharpness of the image is well done--you can see the food in its mouth and the spot in its eye. Great job!   Posted: 08/09/2026 08:20:46
