About the Image(s)
It's rodeo season again. For the last weekend in April I will be at the Rodeo shooting alongside PRCA photographers. I love, love, love the rodeo.
Last year I shot over 2400 photo in the 4-days of the rodeo. I learned so much from the professional rodeo photographers and hope to learn more this year.
This photo was edited in Photoshop and with Nik. I wanted it to have an aged appearance. I also added scratches to the photo in Nik.
I love to hear your feedback.

The use of cropping makes the composition feel very strong and well-balanced.
The image conveys a strong sense of energy and texture, and the rough texture further enhances the dynamic feeling of the subject.
I can also feel the photographer's engagement and sincerity toward the rodeo scene.
Personally, it seems that the main subject and the spectators in the background overlap slightly, which makes the separation between them a bit unclear.
It might be interesting to further emphasize the main subject through selective masking, or to explore a different shooting angle to create better separation.   Posted: 04/01/2026 09:23:19

Darn those bulls. They tend to stay right in front of the chutes. I have not protected masks yet. I'm a slow learner. I did try to blend out the faces. I will keep learning. Thank you for the excellent feedback.   Posted: 04/01/2026 16:56:58
This is a great action photography image. You made a terrific decision to convert the image to black and white (vintage) which removes the distractions and keeps the viewer's eyes focused on the action. Blurring the people in the stands was a smart call, as well. I think you could do a little more with the fellow with the checked shirt, and maybe the men to the right and left of him, but really good. You've done an outstanding job.   Posted: 04/14/2026 00:15:18
