About the Image(s)

I love shooting the night sky. This photo was taken in the Alabama Hills (eastern Sierra mountains) last month.

My photography buddy, Elizabeth and I signed up for a 3-day photo tour on the Eastern Sierra mountain high desert with professional photographer, Jeff Aiello and our local photography store, Horn Photo. Jeff and his team shoot travel photography specials for PBS called Beyond the Lens.

Yes...I had to buy and new camera (not really) but I did. I purchased a Nikon Z8. We would start our day getting up at 4:30 AM for morning sun rise and continue shooting till late at night with this shot of the Milky Way.

Jeff and his team helped us set up our shots and review our camera settings. They even lit up the rocks for this long exposure of the photo.

I'm still getting use to the new camera. My D850 is a beast, and I will continue using both.
