About the Image(s)

We got to the Tampa Zoo to see the orangutans a few times a year. They are amazing animals - who see cameras and turn their backs to us (too often). I always feel lucky when I get an image of one of them looking in my direction. I edited this Lightroom using Lens correction, DeNoise, then cropped. Masks (brushes and gradients) for lightening eye, darkening color of fur, darkening the lips and nose more, darkening the face in some areas and lightening it in others, the used sliders for increasing texture, clarity and dehazing slightly, and finally sharpened the image and added a vignette. I'm using it in a Portraits, Not Human competition category this month.

First, I'm going to apologize for the miss-spelling of your title. EYES :-)
I guess I was in a trance while looking at the photo. You cropped it so well. I was hypnotized. This one is a ready beauty.   Posted: 01/10/2025 22:04:45

No worries about spelling - we all do it, and sometimes it slips by. Of course, autocorrect can be blamed on many of our mistakes, haha.
Thanks for appreciating it this one. It was so fun to do. I entered it in competition, hope it does well.   Posted: 01/11/2025 20:21:22

Carol, This is a gem. I love the eyes and relaxed expression. Made me think of the emotions that animals have. I also liked the original very much. It shows the shoulders and, to me, more of the chilled out and funny pose. Here is the original after removing the white pole and adding some contrast and vibrance.   Posted: 01/16/2025 10:10:46
