About the Image(s)
For this month's image, I created a composite using several files collected during my travels. I started with a photo of stone corridors and layered on top an image of an old church currently undergoing restoration. The rhino, the girl sculpture, and the hens??”originally photographed in Switzerland??”were placed into the scene to become the main characters. From there, I painted some shading on the rhino and the girl-hen, and added light and shadows throughout the composition.
To tie everything together, I applied two different textures: one using a color blend mode to harmonize the tones, and another in soft light to add texture and warmth. I finished the piece with a Camera Raw filter and some minor adjustments to balance the light, shadows, and vignette.
I hope the elements work well together, as I didn’t start with a specific story in mind. I'm happy to receive any suggestions for improvement??”or a title!

I have just a couple of very minor suggestions as shown in the attached- the stone wall next to the rhino and the stone to the right of the girl's tail are a bit bright to my eye, so personally I would darken them.   Posted: 07/07/2025 22:32:44
Thanks for your comment and suggestion. I agree with you about the luminosity in those areas, I had already darkened them from the original, but darkening a bit more does help to better focus attention on the rhino and the girl, and it enhances the image overall.

Thank you for suggesting a title. I really enjoyed creating this image, but my mind went completely blank when it came to naming it. I'm glad you liked the scene!   Posted: 07/13/2025 19:24:44
Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. I'm glad the scene creates a sense of tension that encourages the viewer to explore further and ask questions about what might be happening there.
