About the Image(s)

Recently, while looking through an infrequently used folder, I came across a vivid, non-representational image that I created several years ago. Not remembering how I made this fascinating image, I searched Google and YouTube, and I found that I combined different Photoshop Pixelate, Blur, and Distort filters with various Adjustment Layers and the Transform tool to change an ordinary photograph into swirls, lines, and bright colors. That’s how I transformed Original 3 (whose title is “Checkmate”) into the bright sun in Original 2. Following the steps involved in making such Twirls (my name for the process) is a cold, rainy day pick-me-up activity because the process uses all of the colors in an image. However, there is so much black around the edges in Original 3, the colors of the “sun” are concentrated in the center of the resulting Twirl. The rest of my “Sunrise” consists of Cutting-and-Pasting the “sun” and the statues onto the desert scene. Of course, the mandatory cleaning up various mistakes was accomplished using Layer Masks.
