About the Image(s)

Taken with my Sony a9II and tamron 18-300,, lens. The bees love the lavender plants and always seem to be around earl morning. This was taken about an hour after sunrise on another hot steamy Florida day. It was hard to get the bee since it was continuously on the move. I cropped and post processed in LR and removed noise and sharpened a little in topaz.

Nice job getting this difficult subject. I think you also did a nice job in post sharpening it up a bit. If this were mine, I think I'd use the new AI tools in PS to remove the background stems and tha bit of dark on the left with a bit of orange and crop some in on the left side as well.   Posted: 07/10/2024 19:45:25

Thank you Mike, I appreciate your great comments and will work on your suggestions. I did darken that orange blob somewhat, but it is still distracting. Again thanks for taking the time to criique. It is suggestions such as these that help me improve and hone photography and PP skills.

That is a great shot with the bee in motion and you can sense the inflight movement. The purple lavender adds a pop to the image so nice colour contrast to the bee. I agree with Mike about taking out the other stems but to me i would just remove the top one as the others give context.   Posted: 07/15/2024 18:25:20

I enjoy the wonderful yellow hairs on the bee in this image. One usually can't see the hairs when the bees are buzzing around. This image shows the bee's physical features nicely carrying a full load of pollen. Great colors in this image too. I agree with Mike and Ally that the stem at the top is a bit distracting. Great capture.   Posted: 07/15/2024 23:38:59

I get a sense of "Story". I wonder how many people ever look close enough at a bee to see that pollen sacks they carry? I my opinion ,removing the stem at the top would improve the image. I think it may also help to remove that little orange dot on the left. I really like the color palette in this image.   Posted: 07/16/2024 16:40:30

You captured a very difficult subject. You didn't say what your camera settings were but I imagine a pretty fast shutter speed. First time I have seen the pollen sack. I tend to stay away from bees. I agree with the others suggestions.   Posted: 07/17/2024 03:01:40
