About the Image(s)
This image was taken several years ago in Corkscrew Wildlife preserve. I pulled it out of my archives while doing a project for PSA.
I don't remember how it was edited but it was entered into PSA Exhibitions several times under the Nature Category so minimal editing was done.
Taken with a Canon 5D mark 4, f/8, 1/100 sec, ISO 640, 400mm, handheld

That is cool. The hooks on the ends of its legs are amazing looking. It's a very interesting pattern on its back and on the legs. My favorite part is looking at those hooks (or whatever they are called). Was this with a macro lens? I hope your photo did well in competition. Handheld at 1/100? Wow.   Posted: 07/02/2026 22:06:00
Terrific image. This is one of the best of this spider that I have seen. Wonderful color and amazing detail. No suggestions. Bravo!   Posted: 07/06/2026 10:30:37

Tom, your Golden Silk Orb Weaver photo is absolutely incredible. The color, sharpness, and definition are so crisp it almost pops off the screen. I completely agree with Mike, this is easily the best spider image I've ever seen.   Posted: 07/12/2026 12:34:06
WOW! What a beautiful spider even if you are not fond of spiders. I have never seen a spider like this and it reminds me how many of the critters in nature are beautifully colored. Sharp and very detailed showing the tufts on the female's legs and the menacing hooks on the end of the legs. I like that you cropped in a little tighter to bring the spider up close and personal. Well done.   Posted: 07/13/2026 02:09:08
