Peter Cottontail! Wonderful detail in the bunny's fur and whiskers, and great catchlight in his wondering eye. His expression suggests innocence and curiosity. I also like the original image; it shows daylight and tender green vegetation, and has a feeling of Spring. The darker edited version is more mysterious. For me this is a fun image. I think you did a good job of getting the eye in focus and plenty of detail on the fur. Your crop eliminates most of the distracting background and darkening it makes the subject stand out. In my opinion shooting from above is not the most effective compositonal choice for the subject. I wonder if you could have gotten into a lower position and waited if he might have hung around and given you another opportunity.   Posted: 04/12/2026 13:41:21

A sure sign of spring when the new bunnies of the year are out exploring. Working with wildlife can be challenging. Wouldn't it have been nice if all three were close together and smiling for you. I think the one you chose to present was the best of the three. He/she seems to be sniffing out the environment. Nice catch light in the eye and the bunny has detail and is sharp. A cute image and perfect for spring! Love the detail in the bunny and the inquisitive look on its face with great catchlight in the eye. Sharon has a good point on seeing if a lower position was possible but no that you have to work with what you have.
