About the Image(s)

This is one of my favorite landscape images that I took on my trip to Alaska in June. This was taken in the early morning on our way to Seward near Moose Pass. Taken with my Sony 7RM5, Tamron 50-400mm lens at 112mm, ISO 250, 1/640 sec, f/6.3 handheld. Post processed in ON1 2025. I started with an auto setting called "Brilliance AI". I liked the overall effect so I just did some minor adjustments. I did a radial gradient on the sky to reduce the brightness and added dynamic contrast to the mountains and foreground vegetation.

Beautiful, it takes me right there. You can feel the early morning with the mist on the lake. Nice layering of the foreground taking my eye to the beautiful snow capped mountains and the soft sky. Very nice and not surprised it is one of your favorite landscape images.   Posted: 12/15/2025 16:49:00

To me this image is awe-inspiring as it seems so unspoiled by human interaction with the environment. For me there is something interesting to look at in the foreground, the middle distance and the background. The sky has definiton but not so much that it appears to me to compete with the mountains.

I notice that the the middle and the foreground seem to be a bit flat. I wonder if some selective dodge and burn in tha area would give the image more depth? Try it and see what you think.
