About the Image(s)
This image was taken in early October this year at Pepper Ranch in Collier County, FL. The Southeastern Sunflower (Helianthus agrestis) grows in the hydric pinelands and flooded grasslands throughout Florida and Georgia. They can grow up to 6 to 8 feet tall with up to 15 flower heads per stem. This flower only blooms during the first two weeks of October in South Florida if the environmental conditions are correct. This was the first good bloom in the last 8 years. It is an amazing sight to see acres and acres of these yellow sunflowers.
I did very little editing to this image by minor adjusting a few sliders in RAW and toning down the blue of the sky a bit.
